Vitamin Angels, a Santa Barbara, California based non-profit has partnered with Malawi Children, granting us vitamin A and Albendazole to complement our existing programs.
Founded in 1994, Vitamin Angels is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing child mortality worldwide by connecting infants and children under five with vital nutrients. In 2013, they expect to reach 30 million children in nearly 50 countries, including Malawi. Vitamin Angels has received six consecutive four-star ratings from Charity Navigator for Financial Health, Accountability and Transparency. www.vitaminangels.org
The Vitamin Angels programs team visited our projects in 2012 and to provide technical training on vitamin A supplementation best practices, monitoring and more. Read more about their trip here >> https://www.vitaminangels.org/blogs/photo-update-childcare-organization-malawi.
Earlier this year, Vitamin Angels’ Founder visited our programs to observe vitamin A distributions and meet some of the many children their support is reaching. See photos from that trip here >> http://vitaminangels.tumblr.com/tagged/malawi
“We have seen firsthand how Childcare Organization and their Community Based Childcare Centers are located within communities, providing hands on services to children, and are making an incredible difference in the lives of the children they serve.”
